After carefully assessing the wildfire situation in West Kelowna and the evacuation alert to the Glenrosa area (McDougall Creek fire), BGC Okanagan is temporarily suspending operations at the Webber Club. All current Webber Club families are offered services at other BGC Okanagan Club locations if needed.

Current Temporary Closures:

Lake Country – Recreation Program is temporarily suspended at this location

Webber – All BGC Okanagan operations are suspended at the location

We have carefully assessed the circumstances in West Kelowna and will resume operations at those Clubs on Monday, Aug. 28.

We have carefully assessed the circumstances in Lake Country and will resume some of our operations at the Lake Country Club tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 24, for child care (Full day Programs and Early Years Programs). The Recreation Program will remain temporarily suspended.

Due to the ongoing wildfires and the evolving situation in our region, we have carefully assessed the circumstances and considered the safety of our Club members, families, and staff as our utmost priority. With this in mind, we regret to inform you that the West Kelowna and Lake Country Clubs will remain closed for the remainder of this week.

While we understand that this extended closure may pose challenges for you and your family, please know that we are doing everything in our power to ensure the well-being of everyone involved. Some of our dedicated staff members have been personally affected by the wildfires. As a result, our staffing levels are currently limiWe are currently consolidating services in Kelowna and Vernon to offer essential child care to current Club families from West Kelowna and lake Country by re-deploying staff as needed and as available. We have limited child care spaces available for our current Club families who absolutely need our services. If your children can stay at home, or you can find alternate plans, for this week please do so. We will re-evaluate our service plan at the end of this week.

Current West Kelowna Club families can access services at our Martin Ave. Club in Kelowna (1434 Graham St.), and current Lake Country Club families can access services at our Rutland (355 Hartman Rd.) or Vernon Club (3300 37 Ave.). Please show up at your regularly scheduled drop-off and pick-up times.
