Unplug and Play with the BGC Okanagan Passport Challenge

To encourage time away from their screens and explore different ways of spending time together, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Okanagan is challenging children and families throughout the Valley to try the Passport Challenge.

“We want families to schedule some time during the week to unplug from their digital devices and focus on activities that they can do together. This past year, families probably have spent more time in front of screens than ever before. This week is a great time to try a new activity, or maybe an activity you haven’t done together as a family for some time. It can be as simple as pulling out a board game, going outside to explore your neighbourhood or spending the afternoon in the kitchen cooking dinner or baking,” said Mary McDonald, Recreation Program Manager, BGC Okanagan.

Complete the activities and challenges on the passport to win a $10 coupon to use in the BGC Okanagan recreation programs. New participants will receive free membership when they sign up to participate in the passport challenge. Email [email protected] to receive a copy of the BGC Okanagan Unplug and Play Passport.

The Interior Savings Unplug and Play Week runs from April 18 to April 24, providing families with free, community supported activities so they can increase their time spent participating in healthy, interactive fun. Download the children’s colouring page and email it to [email protected] for a chance to win a prize.
