BGC Okanagan continues Child Care Resource and Referral services
BGC Okanagan is excited to announce that after undergoing a thorough review process, the organization has been granted approval to continue their Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) services in Vernon and surrounding area.
“This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to serving the North Okanagan community,” said Becky Kirkham, BGC Okanagan, Director of Child Care Programs. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to continue supporting families and childcare providers, in accessing quality child care options and resources. This approval reinforces our dedication to meeting the needs of the community and ensuring that children receive the best care possible.
What is a Child Care Resource and Referral centre?
CCRR centres make it easier for families to find and access responsive and inclusive quality licensed and registered child care by providing information, support, resources and referral services to parents and child care providers.
For families this includes lending libraries, workshops, drop-in programs, consultations, support and parenting information. From licensed childcare referrals to a treasure trove of resources in our Lending Library, CCRR Vernon embodies the concept of family support. Through engaging workshops, vibrant drop-in programs, and personalized consultations, CCRR Vernon empowers parents and guardians with knowledge and confidence.
Providers have access to networking opportunities, supportive program outreach, workshops and training and more. Supported with access to a stocked Lending Library, comprehensive referrals to community resources, and inclusion in the registry of licensed child care providers, CCRR Vernon equips providers with the tools and support necessary to thrive.
The Ministry of Education and Child Care provides funding to CCRRs, which work in partnership with government to improve the accessibility, affordability, and quality of child care in all B.C. communities.
