Holiday Giving Spotlight
Spreading the Holiday Cheer
We are just under three weeks into our annual Gift-of-Giving campaign and for those of you who aren’t familiar it is a time to give back during the holiday season and see the impact that your donation makes. We would like to take the time to acknowledge a few of our donor superstars over the past few weeks. So without further ado, in no particular order…
Lori & Rick Lang
Rick and Lori from the Michael Lang Memorial Golf Tournament and Neighbours Helping Neighbours made a donation with proceeds going directly the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Okanagan and part to support neighbours who may have some crisis and need financial support.
Rogers and Downtown Kelowna Association
This year we were invited to participate in the Winter Street Market in Downtown Kelowna where we were given mugs that were sold by donation at the event. 100% of mug proceeds were then donated back to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Okanagan.
Lindsay Hepner
Being passionate about fitness and healthy living, Lindsay organized her Sip & Sweat event at Summerhill Pyramid Winery where members of the community got together and crushed a boot camp workout followed by a stunning wine tasting afterward.
My Fit Life Now
Two Kelowna moms and entrepreneurs have recently started an online workout platform to provide people with a way to squeeze in keeping fit into a busy lifestyle. Over November, they donated 100% of proceeds to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Okanagan and held a fun fitness and yoga class here in our Martin Avenue Community Centre.
Ledcor Group
Ledcor harnessed the power of their employees and were able to come up with their monetary contribution as well as a bundle of toys that will be given to children in the community over the holidays.
BC Tree Fruits
Toys, toys, and more toys! BC Tree Fruits put together the motherload of toy care packages that children will be able to enjoy this Christmas.
KF Aerospace
Contributing to the Gift-of-Giving campaign, KF Aerospace made their holiday contribution to help support operations and families over the holidays.
Kinsmen Club of Kelowna
This year the Kinsmen Club were able to support 8 youth during the holidays through our Adopt-a-Family program.
Kelowna Elks Lodge – Branch #52
Members of the Elks Lodge were in the giving spirit this year and contributed towards our Gift-of-Giving campaign.
Kelowna Shriners
The Shriners provided over 100 tickets to their Shriners Variety Show right here in Kelowna.
In addition to these donors, we would like to extend our thank yous to those who were a part of our Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-a-Club program. To all of the amazing sponsors who adopted families, youth, and clubs this holiday season we appreciate you. In 2019 we had over 100 individuals and organizations step forward and help those in need.
